Practitioner Frequently Asked Questions

Thinking about joining Guided Feather? Here are answers to some of the most common questions about becoming a practitioner on the platform.

What is Guided Feather?

Guided Feather is an online platform helping people discover and book spiritual practitioners in one place.

Customers can browse practitioners, learn more about them and the services they offer, check availability and book online, without the back-and-forth of arranging appointments through messages.

Our aim is to make finding spiritual support easier while giving independent practitioners another way to reach people looking for their services.

Who can join Guided Feather?

We welcome applications from practitioners offering services such as mediumship, psychic readings, tarot and oracle readings, Reiki and energy healing, spiritual coaching and other appropriate spiritual services.

Guided Feather isn't an open directory, and submitting an application doesn't automatically guarantee acceptance. We review applications to make sure practitioners and their services are a good fit for the platform.

How do I apply?

Simply complete our practitioner application form and tell us a little about yourself, your experience and the services you offer.

As part of the application process, we may arrange a short, informal chat so we can learn more about you and how you work. It's also an opportunity for you to ask us any questions about Guided Feather.

Once approved, you'll be able to complete your practitioner account and create your listings.

How do you review practitioners?

Trust is incredibly important to Guided Feather.

As part of our review process, we may consider your experience, qualifications where relevant, existing website or social media presence, customer reviews and other information relating to your practice.

We may also speak with you directly to learn more about your approach and the services you provide.

Our review process cannot guarantee the outcome or accuracy of an individual spiritual service. Instead, it helps us assess whether practitioners are suitable for the Guided Feather community and meet the standards we expect from those using the platform.

How much does it cost to join?

There are no joining fees, listing fees or monthly subscription fees.

Guided Feather only charges commission when you receive a paid booking through the platform.

Our current practitioner commission is 5%.

From 1 October 2026, practitioners who have been approved to join Guided Feather, completed their practitioner account and created and published at least one listing by 30 September 2026 will move to a reduced commission rate of 12%.

The standard commission rate for practitioners joining from 1 October 2026 onwards will be 18%.

This means that if you join and complete your setup before 1 October, you'll benefit from the lower practitioner commission rate.

Commission is automatically deducted from your booking payment, so there's nothing for you to pay separately.

Can I set my own prices?

Yes. You're responsible for setting your own prices and deciding which services you'd like to offer.

We simply ask that your pricing and service descriptions are clear so customers understand exactly what they're booking.

What services can I offer?

You can offer services that fit within the categories available on Guided Feather, including live one-to-one readings and sessions, written or pre-recorded readings, healing sessions, workshops and group sessions.

You should only offer services that you have the appropriate experience or qualifications to provide.

Do I have to show my face on my profile?

From 1 October 2026, all Guided Feather practitioners are required to use a clear, recent photograph of themselves as their practitioner profile image.

Guided Feather is built around trust and personal connection. We want customers to be able to see who they're considering booking with and feel confident about the person behind the service.

Your photograph doesn't need to be professionally taken - a clear, friendly and natural photograph is absolutely fine.

You're welcome to use your business logo, branding or other appropriate imagery elsewhere on your profile or listings, but your practitioner profile image must show you.

Branding and other images must not contain website addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, social media handles or other contact details that encourage customers to contact or book with you outside Guided Feather.

We don't accept AI-generated profile photographs or images that could misrepresent who a customer is booking with.

Do I need an introduction video?

An introduction video isn't essential, but we strongly recommend one.

Videos give customers an opportunity to see your personality, hear you talk about your work and get a feel for whether you're the right practitioner for them.

It doesn't need to be professionally produced as natural and authentic is often better.

With your permission, we may also feature your introduction video across Guided Feather's website or social media to help promote you and your services.

How do bookings work?

Customers can browse your services and request a booking directly through Guided Feather.

You'll receive a notification when you have a new booking request and can log into your account to accept or decline it.

For live online sessions, once you accept the booking, a Zoom meeting is automatically created. Both you and the customer will receive the relevant Zoom link, so there's no need to arrange the meeting separately.

For email or pre-recorded readings, you can send the completed reading directly to the customer using the Guided Feather chat function. Email and pre-recorded readings should be completed and sent to the customer within 7 days of receiving the order, unless a different timeframe has been clearly stated and agreed.

Keeping bookings and communication within Guided Feather helps provide both you and the customer with a clear record of the booking and any information relating to the session.

How quickly do I need to respond to booking requests?

We ask practitioners to accept or decline new booking requests within 48 hours.

Customers are waiting for confirmation after requesting a session, so responding promptly is an important part of providing a good experience on Guided Feather.

If you're going on holiday, taking a break or know you won't be able to respond to booking requests for a period of time, you can temporarily close your listings. This prevents customers from making new booking requests while you're unavailable.

When you're ready to start taking bookings again, simply reopen your listings.

If your listings are open, we ask that you regularly monitor your booking notifications. Repeatedly leaving booking requests unanswered may result in us contacting you and, where necessary, reviewing your account.

Do I have to be available all the time?

Not at all. You're an independent practitioner and you're in control of when you choose to offer your services.

You can take holidays, breaks or time away whenever you need to.

If you know you won't be available to respond to new booking requests, simply temporarily close your listings while you're away and reopen them when you're ready to start receiving bookings again.

How do I get paid?

Payments are processed securely through Stripe.

Guided Feather's applicable commission is automatically deducted from the booking and the remaining amount is paid to you through your connected Stripe account.

Stripe controls the timing of payouts to your bank account. Your first payout may take a little longer while Stripe completes its standard account checks.

Do I need a Stripe account?

Yes. You'll need to connect to Stripe in order to receive payments for bookings made through Guided Feather.

You'll be guided through this process when setting up your account.

Can customers leave reviews?

Yes. Customers are encouraged to leave a review following a completed booking.

Reviews are an important part of Guided Feather. They help customers make informed decisions and give practitioners the opportunity to build their reputation on the platform.

What happens if I need to cancel a booking?

We understand that sometimes things happen and you may genuinely be unable to attend a confirmed session.

If you need to cancel, we ask that you let the customer and Guided Feather know as soon as possible so appropriate arrangements can be made.

Occasional unavoidable cancellations aren't a problem. However, repeated cancellations, missed appointments or consistently failing to respond to bookings may result in your account being reviewed.

Can I ask customers to book with me privately?

Customers who find and book you through Guided Feather should continue to make their bookings with you through the platform.

Guided Feather invests in bringing customers and practitioners together and provides the booking system, payment processing, marketing and support that makes those connections possible.

Full details about off-platform bookings are contained within our Practitioner Terms & Conditions.

What is expected of me as a Guided Feather practitioner?

We want Guided Feather to be a welcoming, professional and trustworthy place for customers and practitioners.

We ask practitioners to:

  • Communicate with customers professionally and respectfully
  • Describe their services, experience and qualifications honestly
  • Keep their availability up to date
  • Respond to booking requests within the required timeframe
  • Attend confirmed sessions as agreed
  • Treat customers with kindness and respect

Practitioners must not make misleading claims about their identity, experience, qualifications or the services they provide.

Our full practitioner standards are set out in our Practitioner Terms & Conditions.

Can Guided Feather remove a practitioner from the platform?

Yes. To protect the integrity of Guided Feather and the experience of our customers, we reserve the right to review, suspend or remove practitioner accounts where we have concerns about conduct, customer experience, misleading information, repeated booking issues or compliance with our Practitioner Terms & Conditions.

Where appropriate, we'll normally contact you to discuss any concerns first.

Can I leave Guided Feather?

Of course. There's no monthly contract requiring you to remain on the platform.

If you decide Guided Feather is no longer right for you, you can ask us to close your practitioner account, subject to completing or resolving any outstanding bookings.
